what is the best age to neuter a shih-tzu? my breeder says 9-12 months, my vet says 16 weeks.

I probably wouldn't go as young as 4 months but after 6 months (which is when your dog will reach sexual maturity) he might become a handful. I would recommend about 6 months of age. Ask your breeder and vet why they gave you the answers they did then you can make your decision based on which one of them had more of a good reason for the age they picked. Bye!

I think the best age to breed them is after they turn 1 year old. That way, they have developed all their body, and more mature.
