I have a canon bjc5000 printer has been setting for about 4 years , i finally got it printing great and now i have 2 messages that make it so i can't get anything printed again .   #1 data can't be sent to printer
          #2 there is no cartrage in holder #1   It has been printing great and now don't know what to do with it have tried downloading new drives but that doesn't seem to hell

Try unplugging or shutting off the printer to allow it to clear it's memory. It is possible that the circuit board in the printer cartridge has shorted out and it is not recognizing the connection. Does the green light stay green or is it flashing?
