How pass word testing is performed.

Nobody has answerd my question.
can i tell the answer which i use to do(donot know how corrct is this)
If i set a password means it is stored some where in the database.so go that databse and check for it.

is it ok

a password can be checked by means of putting all the alpha numeric characters and as well as blank /nul values

1)Check for Null values
2)Check for Alpha characters only(small and caps letters)
3)Check for numeric characters only
4)Check for alphanumeric values.(small and caps letters)
5)Check for sniffing of password when the user enters his/her username , password and clicks the submit button, The password should be displayed in encrpyted/hash format when viewed by external user.
6)Check for password entry in the database
it should be displayed in encrypted/decrypted  format based on the requirement of the user.

This testing happenes mainly according to stored value in database against that particular login name. If it matches then it is valid rather than it is invalid

Even password field on this page is not properly tested so it is not shown as hashes.

Also, special care should be taken for testing against single quote.

check the requirement of the user how actually the password needs to be! for eg: min characters required or the password must be updated according the date and time wise etc.., and make up your test cases according to the requirement

Password Testing is mainly about testing the password field with different data set viz. Alphanumeric, numeric, alphabets, special characters

Also it may include the cases verifying the length of characters permitted
