First, read up on it. Good webpages to start with are www.ourlittlequad.com, http://www.xeromag.com/fvpoly.html, www.lovemore.com, www.polyamorysociety.org, www.polyamory.org.  Also read the books on polyamory, good basic ones are The Ethical Slut, The New Love Without Limits, and Group Marriage (out of print, check Ebay). For a more complete list, http://www.aserve.com/holly/culturefaq.html

Next, try to join a polyamory email list in your area, or join a national list, and ask questions on the list.  Find lists by going to www.google.com and type in polyamory list, or type in polyamory [your city or state].  Yahoogroups.com has a lot of polyamory lists, or a good national one is the Lovelist at www.lovemore.com.

After you get your questions answered, and you have read up, and feel you have it down in theory, its time to put it in practice.  So start dating.  First date people who also identify as polyamorous if you can - its easier than trying to convert the monogamous folk.  Polys can be found in local groups, or at polyamory conventions, or you can use one or more of the websites for Polyamory Personal Ads.  Here's a list of those, scroll down: http://www.mnpoly.org/polylinks.html

My poly relationship happened by surprise.
I was just looking for friends who were also bi-curious on a bi-site. I answered a personal ad, at first we were just friends and then we decided to met. The more we talked the more I was interested in having a threesome with my husband. We spent a weekend together just the three of us. We talked about what happen over the weekend and how we all felt more than just friendship. A few months later she moved in, it's been about 8 months now and everything is perfect.
So I guess it was just meant to be,
Good Luck!

I have two girls in mind for a poly relationship I'm attracted to them both a lot. I love and care about both of them so i feel its natural to want to be with both of them. I don't know how to bring the subject up to either of them cause one was jealous that i was still friends with an ex i dunno, and the other i think doesn't like me in a sexual way. I don't just want  a 3some i want to be with both of them in a relationship, live together and be there for each other and just have lots of fun and love. they are perfect for me i feel they both make me happy and give me warm fuzzy feelings and i would die for either of them.
