Don't breed her until at least her second heat. She should be over 1 1/2 years of age. Their bodys need to mature.  Also don't just jump into breeding. You have no idea how complicating it is! Before you breed you need to know at least these things)please listen for the safety of your dog): 1. how to tell when your dog is in heat 2.when is the correct time to breed 3. how to make sure she and the dad are healthy before breeding 4. how long she will be pregnant 5. how to tell that she is pregnant 6. the care she needs during this time 7. know how to tell she is ready for labor so you can be with her 8. know what is normal in labor so if something goes wrong you can call the vet or ,if time doesn't permit that, how to handle the situation yourself 9.how to care for the mom/pups after birth and 10.how to take care of and sell the pups. Dogs and the pups can and have died in labor due to irresponsibility. You sound like the type that cares enough about your dog to make sure you are prepared! I have a husky that has had pups before and they are the cutest pups in the world! But beware cause they have a way of being so cute that they manipulate you into doing anything!!!:) If you have any questions at all please email me and I will be more than happy to help you. Bye and good luck! stanishas@aol.com

Do not breed @ all. Take a trip to your local shelter and walk through the row of dogs that are going to be put down. You can see that thier are way to many dogs already. Not to mention the problems it can cause for the dog when an uneducated breeder breeds.
