Why do my Beagles shed so much? One of them is 81/2 years old and sheds more than ever.

cause its summer and you have to bath them so they wont shed to much

i think they shed so much because they are small dogs with lots of hair

My mom's friend had a beagle and he shed like crazy and he was only 4 i think the breed just sheds a lot to be honest with you, but they are an amazing and wonderful breed.

I have a 1 year old beagle and he sheds like crazy also. Usually indoor dogs tend to shed more often than others, however beagles shed twice a year. Baths and brushing can help. But you could always resort to shaving your beagle but you'd have to keep that up.

Maybe because they have alot of hair some of it needs to get off of them so they stay cool. and its easier for the owner. you dont have to get haircuts for them=)

Well they shed to much because, to be honest with you it means they get a not a discease but something is catching on them they won't have fleas they might be lazy for the first couple days but most dogs shed cause they have a lot of hair but beagles don't well good luck with your dog oh and if your dog gets lazy for more than 3 days take it to the hospital. trust me i have a beagle it sheds like crazy
