Won't there be a short cut if I use 4 Ohm speakers on a 6 Ohm amplifier? I'm talking about an Onkyo (DX 989 - 170Watt) amplifier and Audio pro (Bravo FX-10 - 150Watt) speakers.

The amount of power generated by an amplifier varies negatively with the load/impedance/resistance of the speakers. The amp will work fine, maybe even give you lower THD+noise, but it won't chug out as much sound as it would with a 6 ohm speaker. My Marantz, for example is rated at 80W at 8 ohms, and 105W at 6 ohms both at .08% THD. If you use lower than the recommended impedance, you run the risk of blowing your amp at high volume and will almost certainly increase the THD+n. However, this is not pertinent to your question, just a cautionary note. So, go ahead and hook it up, just know that you're forgoing some volume.
