What size and type wire do I need to run a 50' indoor feed from my main electrical panel to a 100 amp sub panel. Will 6-3 wire be sufficient, since the red and black wires will carry 50 amps each ???

well, your math seems to be working alright, but your way of thinking needs a little improvement.
tell ya what, let's do it the right way ok?
take some #3 copper, two for the hot leads, one for the neutral, and then just for laughs, let's run a ground wire, say,oh, about a number eight. that might do what you need.
oh,by the way,the wire has to be on a breaker coming from your main panel.
