quality assurance meant for developing,organising the best quality process.
quality control meant for implementing the process developed by former team.

QA is process related and
QC is the actual testing of the software

QA focuses on building in quality....and hence preventing defects.
QC focuses on testing for quality...and hence detecting defects

Quality Assurance makes sure you are doing the right things, the right way.

Quality Control makes sure the results of what you've done are what you expected

Quality Contorl QC is responsible for measuring and testing the product

Quality Assurance is responsible for designing the system, measures and tests used by the QC

QA  :  It is a process used to create a quality product.   it is a process oriented

Quality Assurance:  A set of activities designed to ensure that the development and/or maintenance process is adequate to ensure a system will meet its objectives. Testing:  The process of executing a system with the intent of finding defects including test planning prior to the execution of the test cases

QA is monitoring and preventing process.
and ensures that problems are found and dealt with. QA is process oriented

QC is Corrective process and it is product oriented. QC is a actual testing process.
ensures that outcome of the product is same as specifications, requirements and expectations.

QA activities ensure that the process is defined and appropriate. Methodology and standards development are examples of QA activities. A QA review would focus on the process elements of a project - e.g., are requirements being defined at the proper level of detail

QC activities focus on finding defects in specific deliverables - e.g., are the defined requirements the right requirements. Testing is one example of a QC activity, but there are others such as inspections.

2)QA is a staff function2)QC is a line function.
3)QA is focused towards preventing the defects.Qc is focused on Correcting  the defects.
4)Testing ad inspections are Qc activity.Review are QA activity

As the name itself says that assuring the quality by making your process stable and applying error proofing.
and the QC is to control the quality in a predecided limit to satisfy the customer

QA is an elaborately designed process to be embedded into the manufacturing processes or the purchasing processes to ensure that right things are done in right ways. QC is the activity conducted to check the output of a process against the predefined specifications.

QA, gives assurance that definiteness to the work output.
QC, Checks befor it goes to the final product there by ensuring the quality of the work is met to the standards.

Quality Assurance(QA) is the overall system for achieving quality goals.
Quality Control(QC) is part of Quality Assurance and is the inspection/measuring activity you perform to assess the product.

Quality assurance is a management or oversight function; it deals with setting policy and running an administrative system of management controls that cover planning, implementation, and review of data collection activities and the use of data in decision making. Quality control is a technical function that includes all the scientific precautions, such as calibrations and duplications, that are needed to acquire data of known and adequate quality.

QA is meant for detecting defects  at origin & taking preventive action immediately,is process oriented
QC is for taking preventive action,is product oriented

QA- Set of documents which contain what to do  and how to be done.

QC- Is the part of QA , to check whether the product produced is as per the quality mentioned.

Quality Assurance deals with proactive plan and techniques with regard to process and hence gives confidence about the product quality.

Quality control is a post opeartion activity and decides what is ok and what is not.

QA and QC are not the same.QC is embedded in QA.
QA has to do with ensuring that the right process or step is followed.That is doing the right thing by the people.This is building quality in the process,product and people while QC is all about seeing if the right thing is done.

QA: It is set of procedures intended to ensure that product/service under development meets specified requirements.
QC: It is a set of actvities focus on finding defects in specific deliverables,in order to ensure the product/software meets the quality criteria and requirements of the client.

QA : Each step of the product is to be tested at its development process and it is cost effective.It is a bug prevention process.

QC : The END PRODUCT is to be tested and it is a bug detecting process.here the cost is high.

QA ensures that you are doing the right things, the right way.  It is oriented at process level
Qc is the set of activities designed to evaluate the developed work product.
