no,you need to submit it.Because if you dont, the government will red flag you if they havent seen  tax documents from you in a couple of years. Also if you owe any in child support, etc., and you havent been paying, they will put a warrant out for your arrest and will garish anybody they think that might be helping you. They are cracking down on this.IF they see you havent been working in years, and no welfare, etc., they will know your getting paid under the table(which is illegal) and they will start hunting you.

There are companies who do not require you to provide your social security number, but they are few and spread out.  However, the following website could help to better educate you on your rights concerning your social security number, and other rights you may not have even know you had.

I THINK THAT PEOPLE SHOULD WORK UNDER THE TABLE FOR THE SIMPLE FACT  THAT NO TAXES ARE BEING TAKING OUT BECAUSE THEY TAKE ENOUGH ALREADY AND WE WILL HAVE MORE MONEY THAT FREE TO DO AS WE PLEASE

Let me ask you a question. DO YOU OWN THAT SSN?
No you don't. It's not even yours. So you don't have one. almost 70 million AMERICAN citizens are working in this country without a ssn. Taxes are voluntary and so is social security so no you don't even need one. do some more research before you listen to anybody though. Read the irs code book. title 26.
just because the government says you have to don't you think you should find out if it is true.
