How to prioritize test cases?  such as:
Pri 1 for major functionality?
Pri 2 for Minor functionality?

Anywhere to define the standard that the software testing industry is using?

We proirotize the testcases based on the status of the business requirements of the application

Prioritise the testcases based on Highly impacted-Highly probable (likelihood) business requirements first followed by all Highly impacted, and then all highly probable cases

based on the high risk exposed areas in which we need to be careful in terms of testing

Two main things need to be considered while proritising the test cases:
1. Important issues regarded in the sight of Business users.
eg: Users might expect the system to be user friendly, fast and flexible.
2. system critial issues.
eg: Calculation of Total value in Billing system or the bugs that can crash the system like memory leaks of memory violations..!
