I have a Bichon Frise, he was fairly easy to train.  We would have put a few newspapers down for the first few weeks that we had him and then the next time he did something we just tutted and told him no.  He soon learnt that it was wrong as we got him into the habit of putting him out in the back garden everytime that we thought he needed to go.  He was quick to train.  Now when he needs out the back you can hear him pitter pattering about the tiles in the kitchen wanting out the back door and if you ask him if he needs out the back he barks as if to say yes.  They really are smart despite what some people think.

We trained out mail bichon to "potty pads" (we buy washable hospital bed pads, cheaper than the pet brands)since he lives in an apartment.  He is so well trained that we can take the potty pad where ever we go, show him where we place it and he uses it without any reminders.  We flush the solid waste and wash the pad at the end of the day.

My Bichon Frise was fairly easy to train, it took us a few weeks to train her. She scratches at the door every time she needs togo and this suits everyone in the household. She learned that it's wrong to go inside the house and now she is a very happy charming little dog and we love her to bits.

My dog just recently became six years old and he still has "accidents" in the house. When he was a puppy we bought him wee-wee pads, or little pads where he could pee. Now, we took them away and he has "accidents" everywhere although they are not accidents. Case and point, yesterday we did not take him in our car. My sister was still home, and the dog still managed to have accidents everywhere, but purposely. My mom hates him now, and she wants to get rid of him... I'm scared about him.

they're pretty easy to train if they respect you, they're very smart. we trained ours to ring a bell by the back door every time he wants to go out by giving him a treat every time he hit it with his paw. every time he went to the bathroom outside, he got a treat, and every time he did something inside, he got sent to his kennel. it didn't take very long for him to get it.

hi, if you want to housetrain your bichon frise, DO NOT & NEVER USE NEWSPAPERS TO TRAIN THEM! heres why:
tonights newspapers just come and your sitting there reading it, when your finished you put it on the floor or on a table/suface maybe, a few miniutes later your happy and bonny little pooch comes trotting along and smells the newspaper ink and wee/poos on it ( which will mostly go on your surface or floor)! i hope this message is help to you, you can by specail traing mats from most pets at homes too which i use for my little 8 week old charlie.
