The value of a 1934 twenty-dollar bill is twenty dollars.  Currency is a liquid asset.  If you have two ten dollar bills, you have twenty dollars.  If you have twenty one dollar bills, you have twenty dollars.  If you have five one dollar bills, one five dollar bill, and one ten dollar bill, you have twenty dollars.

Yes you may have a point on the sentimental value of money.  The only way it is really worth something if you (the owner of the bills)  decided to place a price on it.  I personally collect silver certificate bills when i come across them.  I was able to sell three $1 silver certificates for ten dollars a piece.  I made a few bucks but lost some treasures.

Same thing goes for anything else you collect.  Baseball cards ARE NOT WORTH MONEY.  Its how much people are going to pay to own them because they want them.

The only way your going to find out how much your money is, figure out how much people are going to pay you for your money.  Otherwise it is just sentimental value.

I have a crisp 1934 twenty dollar bill i found by trading in another twenty for.  I wanted it just because it was old a neat looking.

And for you worthless response currency dude.  GO F*CK yourself you worthless piece of crap. :)

Like jwkelly70 wrote, the value of a 1934 twenty dollar bill is definetly twenty dollars. But i think that  the true value of it is simply having something so rare and old in your possesion.

I THINK THAT IT IS WORTH AT LEAST 200 DOLLARS, I MEAN, THERE IS NO WAY THAT A 1934 DOLLAR BILL IS IN MID-CONDITION, AND IS WORTH ONLY THE PRICE THAT IT IS VALUED, AND I MEAN, I HAVE A FIVE DOLLAR BILL, AND IT IS WORTH 400 DOLLARS, SO THAT TWENTY HAS TO BE LIKE, 500 DOLLARS, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT!

To Currency Dude
The world is very lucky indeed, that not all people are not as negative as what you portray...
Haven't you been taught if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all, your negative energy does not humor anyone.

Actually you shouldn't call people dumbasses just because you are ignorant to the subject of collecting US currency. Why were you here anyway. 1934 bills are valuable. You are probably jealous because you have any of your own. It is too bad you have to ridicule those who are interested in hobbies. You probably don't have a speck of knowledge about them, so i don't believe it is you to say they are only worth sentimental value. and some people on this page are just being smart asses. Also you should learn how to spell before you try to diss someone. Hey and look at that there was even a spell checker. Your computer illiterate too? or maybe you just can't read very well. Anyway you should pop in where your wanted not here.

I have no answer to the worth of this money but money can be worth more than the printed value. it can be atributed to sentiment. for some reason certain bills and coins become sought after driving the demand for them up causing people to do odd things like pay more for them tan their printed worth. This is how our socity is set up and runs. I guess you could say your money is worth what ever you can get for it. there are profecinals that work with money collection everyday they csn help you in assesing the coins or bills and determin and estimated (current) market rate for what you have. If you are that interested try a coin shop. Be prepaired for them to be critical of the condition of your currency.

Hey "currency dude" -- You're a never-was.  NO ONE in their right mind should listen to your uneducated ass.  How about you go "shut down" your computer.  It will do ALL of us a favor.  It's the sentimental value of ANYTHING antique that binds it to a higher value.  You obviously are not a coin collector, and you obviously need a life.  So like I said before, "shut down" your computer. . . AND, go play in the freeway;  putz.
