Regarding euro currency - I am planning a trip to Poland and Baltic states in few months time. They are joining EU on May 1, but I need to know if they are going to adopt the euro from this date or continue to use their domestic currencies? (I also would like same answer for Cyprus and Malta) many thanks in advance for your help.

Poland, which on May 1 will become a member of the European Union, should adopt the euro as its national currency by 2007, the country's central bank chief said.

You will love Poland! It is an awesome country. I was there in July, 2005.  The currency was the zloty--three zloty were equal to one American dollar. You could get a great draft beer for five zloty.  Go to Krakow and the salt mines.  If you can see the painting in the round in Wrowclaw, go to it. The Black Madonna is also worth seeing.  The people are really phenomenal and the food is delicious.
