When I run in the morning should I eat before or after?

I spoke with the nutritionist and trainer at the gym about this and she said that you should eat before you run but it should be at least one hour before and for maximum fat burning results it should be a protein only meal and then immediately after running, eat a piece of fruit.  Hope this helps.

i too run in the morning and find when running for three hours. Its better to have a smoothie which is easily digestable and it releases the goodness slowly throughout the run.

I prefer to run on an empty stomach so I'm burning just fat and not carbs.Then I eat a large breakfast.

eat after.. i'veread in couple places that you burn your fat when you run before you eat..

7am wake up and drink 1 scoop protein powder in water,grab mp3 player, running gear, check emails & phone.
7.10 quick stretch
7.15 3 mile run
7.35 make breakfast
7.40 green tea 1 sugar & bacon sandwich on brown bread with mustard and tomatos mmmmmmmmmmm or porrige and fruit your choice
7.45am shower

the protein should stop you consuming muscles as energy the water should stop dehydration
