I recently became owned by a rescued red-nosed pit bull, named Hershey. She a sweet and wonderful girl.My question is this: she is white with chocolate patches, and "freckles" of chocolate also. A friend told me she isn't full blooded because of these little speckles. Is he right?? It doesn't matter to me if shes full pit or not. Shes a family pet, I was just curious.

I may be wrong here, but I believe that the APBT is like the Staffy in that they come with any coat markings/colouration. APBTs are a very distinctive breed, the only time I've ever been unsure was over an APBT x Staff, as it created a dog which was slightly shorter than the APBT but taller than a Staffy!

An apbt can be any color or combination of colors with any markings.  One of my good friends is an experienced red nose breeder.  He frequently gets chocolate colored pits out of two red noses.  Anyone who tries to say that a certain color, pattern, or combination of colors is an indicator of being a mutt, obviously doesn't know what he/she is talking about.  Generally people who don't own pits, or don't own registered pits are the ones who go around spouting nonsense.  I call it the Cliff Claven syndrome.

No, it does not. The American Pit Bull Terrier can come in any color or pattern. I have one that's a chocolate brindle. Although it is unacceptable for an APBT to have more than 70% of it's color to be just plain white.

all colors of pits can vary. The real only way that you can make sure that it is full blooded is to check with a vet about it.
