I have a 5 year old Shih-tzu that seems to "shiver" off and on for no reason. She is healthy and happy but when she shivers, even with a sweater on not much seems to help.We even cover her with a blanket and hold her close, but it doesn't seem to help much. After a while she gets ok.
Any help appreciated. Thanks, Ron

I have a 2 year old dachshund that does exactly that. He will be sitting down or standing up and all of a sudden he will start "shivering". Could it possibly be seizures?

Ron, have you heard anything?  Our 11 month old Shih Tzu also just started having the same "on" and "off" shivers.

are you sure your dog is shivering because she is cold? my brother had a small dog and it was shivering because it had some problems with his stomach and he only found out when he brought him to the vet......maybe you should bring your dog to the vet just to make sure everything is ok, you wouldn't want anything to be seriously wrong...ya know.

Our 7 yr old Shih Tzu has always done this as well.  We've found that he know it will get him pity, so sometimes he does it for attention.
