I need to know about door handler. when I washed my car...

I need to know about door handler.    when I washed my car at car wash...  I locked my car. so  when the night become very cold,  I went out to unlock it and it couldnt  let me unlock it.. so I got a bottle of de-icer and i put that in  and  wait for while then try put key in it..  and it move little but i keep trying  putting de-icer and it doesn t work at all so I know what the plm  was water freeze up in the lacket..  so  how can I prevent getting  lock  freeze up??  
    Can i use some kind of spray that prevent water freeze up lacket?  if you do know, which  spray that can helped it???

TRY PEEING INTO THE LOCK.  THE URINE FREEZES AT A MUCH LOWER TEMPERATURE THEREBY ENSURING THE LOCK WILL NOT FREEZE
