because betta are figting fish and they use the pouch under there mouth to make themselves look larger to scare there opponent. Cobras do the same thing.

because betas like to scare other predators off and if you put a beta in a mirror it's muscles will look all big and scary

When I got my Betta it was blue and now it is kind of grayish. Why is that?

a male betta fish usually do that when he sees another male betta, it means he wants to fight or just scare the other fish.

bettas can be popular if your looking for a easy maitnence fish, its kinda like a gold fish but maybe a little more fancier. its all about what your taste in fish, i owne a male crowntail betta and hes awesome.
