I am a spouse of an H1-B visa holder and desperate to work. My children are American and my husband is legal but I have no rights. I am Canadian and have lived here for four years now. Feeling very much like a prisioner.  Please help!!

H-4 dependants are not eligible for employment authorization. If any of your children are at least 21, they can sponsor you for residency. Another option is to change your status (for example to H-1B or TN) if you qualify to do so.
