I have trouble getting my feet and ankles not to throb in figure skates.  I was told for general recreation that hockey skates are more comfortable and alittle more sturdy on the ice to control if you are not into the fancy stuff?  Is this true?  I am a woman and can skate "decent" but hate the feel of the figure boots.  Can never get my ankle and foot to feel good>?

Hi Karen, My opinion is, don't switch to Hockey skates if you don't want to. Try wearing your skates at home, but just don't tie them as tight as you normaly would, maybe they just need break-in time. and if you are an intense figure skater, i know it's hard, but don' do as many MIFs as you normaly do for a while, see how your ankle does.
