I have an Emco Star Woodworking machine (6 functions in one machine) and an Emco Rex B20 planer which I bought from the factory in Halien, Austria in the !972. Does anyone know the company is still in business or changed names or where it moved too. I couldn't find it via Telephone inquiries. I know the machines were still being manufactured in 1979 because I saw them for sale in a woodworking store in Bolivia, South America.

I have an Emco 2000 combination jointer-planer and needed a feed belt.  Blue Ridge Machinery in WV thought they could get one, but have now said they're no longer available.  Does anyone know of someone who could custom manufacture this type of belt.
Thanks from Canada

quencez, Get yourself a transformer or other voltage converter. That will be much easier than changing out the motor.  Mikes

Ron,
I've sold a couple of used Emco Stars in the range of $300-400US. It depends on finding the right buyer and how much goes with it in the way of a cabinet/stand and accessories. Mikes

The problem with the existing EMCO company is that it does not manufacture the EMCO Star or Rex series any mone. These machines are discontinued and spares are not easily obtainable. To get feeder belts it is the best to take the old belt and have some new ones made

RON,
where is your Emco Star situated?
As to value, unsure for a 35 year old machine.
There is one on E-bay starting at 5 pounds!,
I'm sure this will go up a bit, but no offers yet, but still 2 days to go.
I am looking to buy such a unit, in good working order. Let me know when you fix a price , if its in the U.K.
Regards, STEVE

Lloyd:  I've a nearly complete Emco Star 'woodshop' tool but I am lacking the planer/shaper table and bits.  These were last imported into the US in the early 1970--they then cost about $2000 and were priced out of the market by shopsmith, etc.  I've read through many of the answers above and have the parts/operation manuals.  Quencez; As for a new 'engine' all that is needed is to rearrange the wiring inside the existing electric motor and it can run about anywhere there is AC power.  feel free to contact me for copies of manuals, etc.    These are very rare and wonderful machines--I've had mine on a tugboat for 14 years and have built much with it including a boat.  Doug in Alaska (mail@dougleen.com)
