My staffie has very sensitive skin and is always flaking and scratching at the base of her tail.I have tried vet creams but to no avail.Can you help?

my staffie also has sensitive and flaky skin and my vet gives me steriod tablets which help greatly

My staffie has the same problem. I have at least been able to calm the stratching down by using a shampoo that has teatree oil & aloe vera and/or lavender oil.  Once out of the bath, and the furr is dry. I have some oil thats called "coat calm", that is basically olive oil with lavender oil in it that I rubb on her dry spots. I also have a bottle of lavender water, that I spray her with daily to calm the itch... lavender is also a mild antibaterial agent.

Try changing your dogs diet to a hypoalergenic variety, such as james wellbeloved or burns. When an animals being cared for on the inside it shows on the outside!
