I got my tongue web pierced about 7 months ago and i love it.  I got it done at Ian's in NYC bye a man named Rob.  When I got it done, it didn't hurt one bit.  I was talking fine and eating fine about 5 minutes after i got it pierced.  It got a tiny bit swolen about an hour later, but that was only because I smoke cigarettes.  The swolenness didn't hurt at all, but it was just a little weird.  The next couple days I washed my mouth out with listerine about three times a day.  That was about it, it's fine now, and i don't have any complaints

um yah I was thinking about getting my tongue web pierced but I want to be-able to hide it from my mother she is the type of person who honest to god would disown me if I got anything like that pierced..So is there anything I should worry about like veins and blood vessels and whatnot because I don't want it to be super swollen to the point where she will notice something is up..

I got mine done a few days ago but they put in a ring and it kept hitting my teeth so i took it out then just got it redone today. It didn't hurt too bad the first time it just felt like a pinch the worst part was when the piercer moved the clamp around. it was swollen for a few days. I suggest not getting it pierced with a ring, I'veseen it heal funny with a ring. try a barbell (curved or not) and make sure to rinse with Listerine or sea salt after you eat or smoke anything.
PS don't take it out then go back three days later to get it re-done. it hurt like a bi**h because it wasn't healed fully from the first time.

How well were you able to talk during the period of healing? Because I talk for a living and I need to know if it made any inconvenience for talking, as in understanding.

I just had my tongue pierced 6 days ago and it swelled up, but only because I ate french fries with salt on them...bad move. I also smoke, but it didn't seem to affect it much.

It usually takes about 4 wks to heal, and during that process, you shouldn't smoke, kiss or have any oral sex at all.  Suck on lots of ice so it can minimize the swelling.  Wash your mouth at least 6x a day to make sure you don't get an infection.  Eat soft foods and don't play with it during the healing process, this just makes it take longer to heal.

Basically i got mine done two days ago I cant talk right. I cant stand it. I have a lisp now and it sounds so unattractive....ALSO your not supposed to rinse your mouth out with anything that has alcohol in it because it kills all the cells you need to help your tounge ring heal...your supposed to use biotene or warm water....I dont know why the dumb ass piercers tell you that but everyone who pierces you'soppinion varies I guess.
