Through the first week they should do almost nothing but eat and go right back to sleep. If they are restless than seek help urgently. They will get more active around 2-3 weeks.

i have an american cocker spaniel hes 5 months old but he sleeps quite a lot is that ok for him and he never barks.i have only had him  four days is this why thanks.

I have the same question. My new pup is 6 weeks old (we got her 3 days ago) and naps alot. is that normal?
