What kind of foundation makeup is best for rosacea.  Do I look for hypoallergenic or what?  Do I avoid "hydrating" foundation and ones with Retinol?

I have found Clinique's water-based liquid foundation line to work well for me.  They call it "superbalanced makeup"

i am a make up artist that has worked for many lines. what you should do, depending on how bright the color is, get a green color corrector. It should come in a tube in a concealer like consistency. put a very thin layer directly on the area of skin you would like to cover. and then put whatever foundation over it you like to use. try MAC if you have one in your area. they run about 13$. their products are amazing.

I have a problem with rosacea and I have found that the one that works best for me is Reflect.  It is custom blended to your skin's needs.  I liked the product so much I started working for them at Marshall Fields.  You can order online at Reflect.com or find one closest to you.  The best way to find out more info is to go to the website.

I have also had success with Clinique products, I have been using Perfectly Real in 12, the golden undertones help minimize the red a bit, but let a little show through, the result is wonderful, it looks like I have normal blush as opposed to glaring red cheeks ... very happy with it!

Clean Make Up my cover girl is a must have, it keeps everything very good. Your face with love how it has moisturizing balls in it. if you get the right skin tone, you can't even tell you have it on. This product is absolutely wonderful!

Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals makeup has worked wonderfully for me.  I no longer need to spend so much time trying to hide my red cheeks under a sticky green concealer that would tend to cake and flake under liquid foundation.  Bare Minerals are incredible and have even helped improve the condition of my skin.

ive been searching and im curious to know the answer to this too.. you cant just use "whatever" foundation. to be safe i know you should go with perfume free hypoallergenic and Clinique seems to offer this. Almay might be good also but anything that burns your skin is bad. mineral makeups are good but watch out for the ones with something called Bismuth Chloride/chloroxide (Bismuth whatever=is bad)only bc there are some women who find out theyre wildly allergic to it and theyre usually very upset since theyve never had problems before.
