At minimum, I think you are looking at your original registration fees, late fees, towing fees, and last but not least the impound/storage fees charged by where ever it was towed to (around thirty dollars a day). If the car isn't claimed within thirty days, it gets auctioned off to cover the storage.  If it doesn't totally cover the storage, then you are left with the remainder plus interest and penalties and collection fees if it goes that far.

I own a towing company. Your car was towed from an apartment complex. Am I right? The reason it was towed was because there is a law that prevents anyone from having an unregistered car on their property. Also, if the problem is left unchecked, the apartment complex loses new customers because of the junk a complexes parking lot tends to attract. Dan is correct in all his assessments. You must take care of the daily little issues that come up, like keeping your car registered. If you don't, it costs you far more in the end.
