I certainly assume you have the best intentions in doing this, but I would like to point out one minor detail. If you actually plan on doing something "special" with the animal in question, IE: Sales, Shows, Major Competition training or any of the like you are already out of luck. A "papered dog" is just that... A dog with some papers. In all actuality the animal actually has nothing special about it. These little online .com stores will, of course take your money and give you a piece of paper saying your dog is full blood, but it means nothing. The real RIGHT way to register any animal, dogs included is to contact the American Kennel association and follow their very strict guidelines in their review of dogs. Any dog can be worth money or effort in training and In my opinion most are more then eligible for these benefits- but the AKC does things differently. They will want a certified bloodline, traceable to at least two generations. I am seriously not trying to rain on anyones parade...I wish you all the best of luck and I sincerely hope you all find your answers, but there are literally thousands of answers to be found out there. Any website will ship you a piece of paper with a dogs name on it, but it means nothing. To the best of my knowledge, the only way to get papers is to register the dog with the American Kennel Club (AKC). The AKC will only issue papers to dogs that are proved to be pure-bred examples of the breed (In other words, both of parents had to have registration papers from the AKC). Therefore, the only way that I know of to get papers for your dog is to go back to the breeder from whom you bought the dog, get copies of the parents' papers and then apply for your dog's papers. I don't Know what rules and steps they will make you comply with, but expect quite a few, because your dog SHOULD have been registered BEFORE it ever left the breeder.

Based on the assumption (since you didn't specify) that your dog is a purebred, you can contact the CKC (Continental Kennel Club) and order a canine application. This form provides the opportunity to get a registration certificate on your dog. You will need to provide witnesses who can verify the dog to be a certain breed as well as submit photos of your dog. The canine application has changed over time, so I recommend that you visit their website and/or call their office for the latest copy. Below is the contact information I have found for them. I have five dogs I never had any papers on before. I went to google and put in "register dog". The first registration company to pop up was the "Certified Pure Puppy Database" (www.purepuppy.org). They register dogs that are pure and mixed breed mostly for breeding and ownership purposes. You can order free canine applications or register online even if your dog doesn't have any papers. (Canine age doesn't matter) Good luck everyone and season's greetings!

hey im new to this site but i have a male pit bull and he ran away a year a go when me and my ex were dateing he just came back home three days a go.where not to getther anymore i paid for the dog(No proof)and he hit him when he was a puppy and fixed his leg. now hes saying he going to register him ckc in him name so i cant have him any more....... can he do that?

Going to the owner of the ADULT dogs won't help. Most breeders will sell a DOG with PAPERS at a higher rate then one without. So you may have gotten a deal on the dog. Look at the DRA they will registered your dog.. It will will take 3 Gens for Pedigree.

Say i found a boxer that already had its ears clipped. she was runing around in my front yard, so i posted lost dog signs all around my my sub division no one called now shes about seven months and i have no papers on her but i wont to get them and all of her shots and stuff where do i get then from HELP ME PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
