I have a 96 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9 V6.  It takes a good 30-40 minutes for the heater to get warm in the cab.  By this time you're pretty much frozen.  I tried changing the thermostat, but that didn't help.  Any ideas?

CHECK the Heat riser in the Exaust System.

i have the exact same truck & engine...i changed thermostat, heater core and air box trying to relieve the problem. some vehicles r just cold blooded.

check the water level in the radiator

when i put my foot down to get going i hear a noise like as if its blowing from a gasket at top end somewere in the engine is a sensore or a leak thanks

I have a dodge dakota and the same thing happened to me and they had to replace the heater core. It was around 140$ labor and all.
