Hi everyone I have a 1980 vw rabbit I need to find a diagram of where and which relays goes on this car. The rabbit was given to me by a friend that did not want it anymore. At sometime in the past 6 months he took out the fuse box to replace it and never got around to replacing it.I located a fuse box at a salvage yard and installed it.I collected a number of plug in relays that plugs into the top of the box but don't know which ones goes where.I replaced all of the small ceramic fuses but need to find out what relays I need.Like I said It is a 1980 vw rabbit four door sedan with air condition, I think it is an L model with fuel injection.I think I can get by with the basics, the air conditioner does not work. If there is any body out there that can help me it would sure be appreciated. I do have a manual for this car but it does'nthave the location of the relays I need. Thanks again for any help Chris

any manual of an A1 (pre-1985) would help you, the electronics didnt change significantly in the A2 (1985 to 1990) and those manuals are alot easier to get a hold of.

The correct answer would be followed by a question, based on the year (1980), is it German made or is it an early Westy. The 2 boxes will be different and based on your cars equipment and that would be the determining factor. Buy a bentley manual, worth it's weight in gold.
