Service Engine Soon "Light" is ON, could you advise what type of emission or fuel this may be? The manual refers to TMC issues as well which this may not applies to a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan SE. Please advise.

Check out www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html. They give you instructions on how to get the error codes causing the Service Engine light to come on. My 1996 Caravan had the same problem and this really helped.

I own a 1999 Chevy suburban.  The "service engine soon" light recently returned.  The onset of the problem occurred while driving from eastern North Carolina to central Georgia on Memorial day weekend.  The light remained on for the four day there.  It went away briefly at one point when I went to a higher octane of gasoline but returned while I was on the trip.  I was able to drive back home to North Carolina from Georgia without any difficulties.  The next day as I was taking the vehicle to a mechanic to have the light checked out and "off" it went without a clue.  It remained out until this very day.  What is the problem?

I have a 1995 GMC Sonoma with a rebuilt engine that has about 20000 miles on it.  In the past week or so, the check engine light has come on for a brief moment (stays on for less than a minute) at accelerating highway speed (around 55).  The engine hesitates and bogs down a bit until I back off the pedal a bit then it seems to regroup and start to accelerate.

I purchased a used Mitsubishi Mirage yesterday. When I saw the car 2 days back the Service Engine soon light was not on. Now I got it on since yesterday when the car was delivered to my door. I asked the dealer about it and he says there is nothing wrong with the car. He came and checked it with some hand-held device and light went off. Today it turns on when I started the car and goes off after around 5 seconds. Please let me know, any idea, what he would have done with the device to turn it off, why it turns on again, is anything wrong with the car? what should I do about it.
