I have had my belly pierced for about 2 months..  for the first month i cleaned it really well 2x a day with soap and water.  My belly seemed like it was healing well.  But after the 1 st month, i stopped cleaning it as much but it was okay until a week ago. A little bit of white puss came out, but from what i have heard.. its normal.. but theirs a redish/pink ring around the top hole.  and just recently on the right side of the top hole its white.  What's up??  and how can i fix it.. also is it okay to have crust on the ring every day? and will i be able to go suntanning with oil and hot tubbing in the next month if it heals?

You have to clean your piercing with antibacterial soap everyday.  If you have a hoop in, you may want to change it to a barbell.  If it is pussing, it might be infected.  If it is crusting, it might be healing.  Once the redness goes away you should be able to suntan without any worries.  GOOD LUCK!

soak it in sea salt about 2-3 times a day for approx. 5-15 minutes. do that for about 3-4 days, if its still crusty & you have a barbell, get a hoop and quickly change it, a hoop gives you more access to the area all around the piercing/hole.

Hey ya'll. I got my belly pierced about 4 weeks ago and i don't think i got the right kind of belly ring. People have been telling me its a tongue ring. Its straight and stick-like with a ball at the top and bottom...is it the right kind? Now my skin is red, a bit swollen, and soft. I have a feeling its not healing at all. What kind of belly ring should it be? And how can i help with the healing process?

I've had my belly button pierced for 2 years now. When I got it done, it was red, swollen and crusty...but in a few months it went away. the puss is a sign of infection. I would recommend using Bactine...it works wonders!!!

Hey! I Got my belly button done 7 days ago and now it has the same things yours is doing..its red aroung the top part of the ring and white around the inner part and it pusses still. I called my piercer and asked him about it he said it is all TOTALLY normal. Also he said to make sure to clean it everyday with antibacterial soap (Dial works great!) and as long as the puss isnt a yellowish or greenish color its good. Yellow and Green puss means the piercing is infected!! Anymore questions emaial sometime or add me if you have msn messenger...iCe_bArBiE_SaRaH@hotmail.com
