Help me out guys! Any kind of input is great! GOod or BAd. But please explain!
I have a yorkie that is going to be 5 this year. Truthfully, I have not taken much time into grooming her. How often do I have to trim her for her coat to be nice, silky and long? She has had slightly dry hair due to several months of bathing with regular(human)shampoo, rather than doggy shampoo.  My friend had her for several months while I was out of state for a few months, and neglected her fur. It has never been the same. People told me to shave her so she could have a fresh coat. THAT DIDNT HELP! Her hair doesnt seem to want to grow longer than medium length. 2-3 inches! I know she can grow her hair fairly long, since she comes from a family line of champions. Her parents, Grandparents, G-Grandparents and so on. I know she COULD be the runt, but I assure you, she is not. Many have told me when she was younger, that she had great hair, perfect looking markings/ color and posture. Many told me that she was show quality, but I did not want that for my baby. What to do?

First of all maybe you can start by making sure she gets to a groomer every other week. And also regular brushing. Please don't say you don't have time. That is not an excuse. We all have busy schedules, however in deciding to purchase your baby you have to make the time even if that means taking he or she to doggy daycare where they will give him proper care while you are away. Also it may be the food you are feeding your dog. Royal Canin Yorkshire 28 is especially made for the special needs of our breed. You can find it at PET-CO. Make sure you find a lite oil or leave in conditioner.
