my guinea pigs hair falls out a lot why? its beeen a year now.

have you had it checked for mites? mine did the same thing and had mites. he had them since birth but there were dormant until he had a respitatory infection. took him to the vet and 2 shots later they were gone.

Mine shed alot, so you might want to just see if its shedding. Now if there are bald spots starting to show up then take them to the vet.

What I'll do is take my guinea pig to the vet and ask them if it is normal for this to happen.

Have you checked it for fleas that could be another reason for its hair falling out it! Check for any flea dirt aswell or pale skin colour. i hope you find out soon what is up all the best !

my guinea pig's hair falls out a lot too. i been worried if it's sick or something. and i got this stuff from the pet store. you bathe it in dust and it helps if it has mites or something like that, that is making it shed.

my Smorz who is about 4 now has shead alot when i got her, but about after awhile she stopped,look in your piggies fur for white things... if you can't really see anything, it's probably O.K.

well i was also having problems with my guinea pig and her hair falling out, and i went to the vet, and now i kno it is normal that during spring they shed more. i used a metal greyhound comb on her and she is much better.
