Yes. Red wine's flavor is at peak at room temp.  However if you enjoy the wine chilled go for it!

Red wine is best at room temperture, but many people do not realize that room temperature actually refers to what the room temperture of a castle would be - we are talking about 58 degrees.  Hence it is best to store red wine  in a cool dry place.

Red wine is best stored at a temperature cooler than an average room temperature of 70 degrees F, but warmer than a refrigerated temperature of 40 degrees F. I store my red wines in a dark, bottom shelf of a room that is neither heated or cooled off my kitchen and have never had a bottle go bad on me. You must remember that light also affects wine, so a dark, cool place between 55-60 degrees F would be ideal. Because I enjoy my red wines chilled, I will stick a bottle in the refrigerator in the morning if I plan on drinking the wine with my dinner that night. Another note on wine, although Burgandy is a wine and looks red, it isn't considered a "red wine" and should always be stored and consumed at room temperature.
