I am trying to install a 12 volt fan and I need to plug it into the wall to get the power.   What kind of transformer do I need to make the power conversion if any?

You can buy 12 volt power supplies at any hardware or computer type store. They are very common and cost from $5.00 to $25.00+. You might be able to use a power supply from an old cordless phone or an answering machine or some computer speakers. Check the lable for the voltage rating on the power supply cord to make sure your not over or underpowering the fan. I hope this helps you my friend.
