how many people are in the world

Well, I'm pretty sure there is between 6 to 8 billion... I was just trying to find out more specifically myself when I just found this question. The above is my best educated guess. Also, world population is actually on a decline at this time, which many people are unaware of.

well I came to this site wondering how many people are in the world to compare it to the number of animals killed every year in result of animal testing. Animal testing is cruel and needs to be put to an end, every year 25 to 50 billion animals are killed as a result of animal testing. There are only 6.4 billion people in the world.

Ah, but if you believe God put man(kind) in charge of his creation - to manage it - then you have less of a problem. That's not to say we are not mis-managing what God charged us with managing. Nor to say I don't agree it's cruel. Just don't make the animals your God!

Bottom line: Think. Be responsible as surely as you're accountable.

Jules, I see your point but...  Animals are not near as important as humans maybe we should get tested instide of the animals then it would be one less dead animals and more dead humans :)

Wow, somebody is either lying through their teeth or are really misled or really stretching the truth to say that there are up to 50 billion animals killed every year for "testing" purposes.  A conservative guess is that there are no more than 1000 major national companies that have to do product testing on animals (take a look around you - 99% of the stuff in your house was never tested on an animal with fatal results).  That means each of those companies average killing at least 500 million animals?  Every year?

Either this person is counting protozoa (which you kill every time you breathe) or they're off by a factor of 100,000.  Besides, killing animals is very expensive, and no company no matter how wealthy can financially afford to kill 500 million animals every year.  Some may kill as many as 10,000 - but I doubt even that.  It's just amazingly cost prohibitive.

We think that animal testing is cruel and unfair. I mean think if you were that animal being tested for that particular product. People should invent another way to test their products. IT IS CRUEL!!! We think there should be another way to test and to save animals.

Recently there have been few people in the world as compared to ancient days due to different diseases which have existed. In the 1800s, there were 7.3 billion people in the world but we are now experiencing a decline! nobody really is very sure about it, that there are a certain number of people in the world. there r wayyy too many pple in the world...we're so over populated and yes animal testing is so f*ckin messed up because the stuff they do is'nt relivent because most things they "test" have all ready been tested and most of the time it is different than it would be in humans and animals can feel pain and have emotions just like humans...and the pain and suffering and emotional pain they put those animals through...its jst wrong...but dont forget about the animals they raise for food ...most of them r cruel too...so sad/...lol but yea its stupid what pple do to animals jst cuz it makes them feel higher...better cuz they can torture an animal. and no mankind isnt in charge of animals...when pple were not as evolved as we are now the animals were doing jst  fine w/o us (and i beleive animals have souls...not jst humans...)

Personally I'monly a kid.10 years old to be in fact!but I think there are way more people than these people say there are.It's almost immpossible to count because some people are poor and are born on the streets and don't get counted onto this earth.Also people live way out in the desert and nobody knows about them.I'm sure there still are Indians out on the plains too.

There are 6,548,461,318 people in the world. I found this out on a website, but by the time you read this, there will be 25 more people in the world because every second 5 babies are born and 2 people pass away. I thought this was pretty interesting, and kinda cool too!

yeah i was wondering that same question.i believe in god but im still worried about how many people are in the world. but 6 billion people doesnt seem alot. at least i dont think its alot. rap4ai@yahoo.com is my email if any of you decide to tell me more about how many people are in the world cuz this is a serious question considering about how many countries theyre are and cities there are thats not alot.

60billion i would say because there are hundruds of pepole in the world you can't count how many only if your a fast counter!!

HEY I CAME TO THIS SITE FOR NUMBERS OF PEOPLE IN ARE WONDERFUL WORLD AND I GET TO READ ABOUT ANIMALS  AND GOD .THERE IS A PLACE AND TIME FOR EVERYTHING/ AND THE LAST TWO WAS NOT IN THE RIGHT PLACE OR TIME.I WAS VERY DISPPOINTED.
