My family got a female Shetland Sheepdog, also known as a sheltie, for about $300. We also got a male for about $150, but that was because he was the runt of the litter. If your looking for a sheltie, buy them from an owner who breeds dog or a humane society. DON'T BUY A PUPPY FROM THE PET STORE. The pet stores get their puppies from puppy mills. Puppy mills are horrible places with horrible conditions for dogs and puppies. Pet stores have a bad effect on shelties. I've seen a lot of shelties in pet stores and they looked sick and definently not taken care of. Shelties need love, not just food and water. I hope that helps you. Good luck!

Shelties get from 15-25 pounds full grown. One of my friends neighbors has one and boy is he cute.  For the price it really depends on what breeder you go to and what condition its in, it also matters how old it is or if its a male or a female.  Females probably cost around 50 to 100 dallars more because you can breed them if you have a male.  A male will cost less. If you buy one from a breeder get one that looks healthy and is more likely to love you for life. also take a good look at his/her skin incase there are any problems. look at the legs and paws for scrapes and sores or dislodged joints. you should also check out the sire (dad) and the dam (mom).  pick the one that is most comforted with you.                                                     good luck fining your puppy Alyssa

Shelties grow about 13 inches tall and a healthy sheltie should cost no more than 400 dollars.
