I need to know the pro's and con's of neutering. I have two six month old springers. the vet encourages me to have them neutered. They are brothers and are both well behaved. They are house dogs but do get plenty of exercise. They are house broken. They play rough and are inseperable. Is there a real need for neutering at six months? Should I wait for a reason to neuter? Your help is appreciated. You can reply to mgfree_1@earthlink.net. Thanks

the reason for neutering is so you arent stuck with the responsability of paying for your neighbors pregnant dog because one of your dogs knocked her up. i recommend that you avoid the worst and neuter them at the  youngest age possible. it will not change who they are, its just for safety. you dont want to end up with a bunch of puppies that you dont have time for. after they are neutered, they will be a bit less agressive and thats about it. good luck.

I think you should wait and there is no need of neutering yet and is best to wait

It's healthier, it zereos out the chance of testicular cancers, and it helps in marking and aggression problems. The dogs don't miss their testicles. :D

I'd do it asap.

yes neuter them, they are less likely to get certain diseases that way.

please get your boys neutered.  There are more than enough dogs dying in shelters, there don't need to be any more ignorant owners allowing their dogs to breed, even if by accident and creating even more puppies who are born to die
