I have a 1991 Dodge Caravan.  It was running perfectly.  I turned a corner and it died and would not restart. My husband (owns his own shop) has replaced the computer, about every sensor imaginable and is totally fed up with it.  It starts right up, idles forever, but after about 10 minutes driving it shuts down.  It has to sit for a couple hours then will start again.  I am sure its something we have overlooked.  It has been broke for over three months.

Fuel Pump - messy replacement, but my #1 guess.

But check for spark - if it produces a spark and won't start, it's the pump.

Test - run a small jumper from the battery to the positive side of the coil - it shares a connection with the fuel pump - the fuel pump will start to hum.

This test of course is only useful after it's died on you.

The alternative, if you get no spark - it's the pickup in the distributor.

Back in the mid 90's I worked at an engine re-manufacturing shop. I remember some talk about the fuel pickup line in the tank breaking apart after long exposure to gas (the Dodge Boys didn't do their homework). These pieces would clog the fuel filter and, in time, the pickup line wouldn't be long enough to reach the gas in the tank. There might have been a recall that you could ask a dealer about.

Did the fuel pump replacement fix your problem?  Also, did you save the old computer?  Looks like I might need one for my 91 caravan and am looking for a used (read that as less expensive) one to replace it with.  My email is jwshell@att.net

Has he looked into a clogged catalytic converter? I had a dodge pickup that did the same thing and it turned out to be that after tons of other things were replaced.
If it has to sit for 3 hours before it will restar that would be mt guess.
