One cause for vomiting blood is exposure to anti-freeze, which many outdoor/stray animals lick off the ground or the fur; as well as exposure to melting salt in a cold climate. My cat had the same symptoms for licking melting salt off his fur after a snowstorm.

I'm not sure what you mean by he had constant cough in normal time, but if any animal's vomiting blood, for whatever reason, call your local SPCA or humane society and find out what to do for the animal or take the animal to a vet immediately. It sounds like this animal was in a lot of pain before it died.

The cat may have eaten another cat that had sharp nails. Thus cutting the inside, you should have kept some of the blood and feed it to your friends.
