If you are allergic to dogs, be careful, pugs shed a lot.

I had a dog for 15 years with no problems and then we added a pug and it sent me to the allergist for testing to see what the heck I was allergic to. It's only dogs, and so far, it's only pugs.

Poodles do not shed their coats so are great for people that are allergic to dogs.
