Hi...like to see what you have.The US government at that time 1811 didn't issue circulating currency there was a short period of time 1815 where it did issue small denomination notes $5,$10
$20 and $50 notes.Now many private banks did issue there own notes at that time.It was not until the Civil War that circulation currency from the United States Government was issued with the Demand Notes of 1861.Send me a scan to marlofan@aol.com.

I have a similar bill..."#176 A" that "will pay to bearer $1000 with interest at Ten cents pr day Montgomery, May 28, 1811"...signed by Elmorey, Treasurer...What have you discovered?
