how do you get a carbon copy to transfer to the skin to get a tattoo, and is there a specific type of carbon paper to use?

Most shops find there own "type" of carbon that works for them.  It is easily applied with clear deoderant such as speed stick or a light spray of medical soap then carbon set, removed, and set to dry.

Not all carbons work! You would likely use a type "D" carbon because this will react to the alcohol in "speed stick.  Standard carbon paper will not and you will more like fail trying to do so.

the best carbons i have found to use are known as spirit masters or ditto machine carbons ,usually these have several layers of paper one white one yellow the carbon and a clear plastic sheeting tear out the white sheet and trace the stencil to the yellow paper remembering that the stencil will be backwards position media accordingly
use a clear stick deoderant that has not been used (sanitary purposes) rub across skin were the tattoo is to be done , place carbon stencil on skin being careful not to move it and then starting from the midle and working your way to the edges rub the stick deoderant on the back of the paper to release more carbon gently peel the stencil from the skin and allow to air dry about 5-10 minutes so it doesn't smudge when your applying the tattoo.

I once found carbon papper, which last after some treatment with cotton and water (very stable). We here use general blue carbon paper but the result is not the same.
Please anybody to tell some labels.

Spirit Masters is the best to use for making your stencil. Place your picture to be tattooed over the WHITE sheet of paper and trace using a slight pressure. This will give you a good stencil. Using GREEN SOAP & DISTILED WATER spray the area to be tattooed and use a razor to shave any hairs off of the skin. Wipe with a paper towel and then spray again and wipe gently to leave some of the soap on the skin. Apply the stencil and with a damp paper towel wipe the back of the stencil this will help transfer the image to the skin. (Pro Tip) After the stincel has been transfered use a damp paper towel to dab the stencil. This will make the stencil darker and then use a dry paper towel to dab the stencil and remove excess ink. Put a thin layer of patrolium jelly over the stencil. This will help keep your stincel lasting longer while you tattoo your out line. Good luck and happy tattooing!

i have found that you can get most carbon papers(type D) at most office max stores and sometimes at walmart you just really have to look and if you call a tattoo shop in your area they will most likely tell you the best places to get the paper and sometimes the different prices.

Okay as far as this whole topic is concerned, spirit paper can be used to apply to the skin for a good tattoo pattern.  They make different kinds where you can trace over your drawing by hand, or by a thermal copy machine.  When applying your pattern, I do not recommend speed stick, because of the chance of causing irritation to the skin.  I recomend using your green soap mixture to apply a clean pattern.  To get tattoo "pens" like a skin marker or any of these products, I recommend Las Vegas Glove @ http://www.lvglove.com .  In order to freehand a tattoo, I just use two or three colored type of pen or permanent marker, depending on whether your going to be doing thick or thin linework.  Use a light color to make a rough sketch, and then a dark color to make the actual lines that you will be tattooing.  If anyone has any further questions on tattooing, they can contact me through email @ skysk8er@yahoo.com .  However, nothing can be more educational about learning the correct art of tattooing through being an apprentice at a reputable shop.  The rest you pick up from experience.

You can get the "tattoo Pens" (Skin-scribe is the real name) from companies that sell tattoo supplies (Usually you need an artist or shop liscene to order from them though)

or any medical supply store
you can get sterile or non-sterile, and the ink is purple.
