10 month old pup half bishon frise and maltese. She has long white hair. Hair is in eyes. How do I trim around them and how far out do I go? Or should I just keep pulling her hair up. She hates anything in her hair.

you can cut with a scissor around the eyes. i have the same problem with my dog.

This site shows how to do top knots. I only do 1 knot tho. I was doing it too tight and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Now I know not to do it so tight and to pull about 10 hairs. http://www.shihtzu.org/read/astcart/ My Shih Tzu kept scratching out her bows until she got use to them. This is how I did it. I found out that it was easy for her claw to get caught in the bow. That was how she was pulling it out. I started to put in only the band without the bow. There was nothing for her claw to get caught in. After a few months she gave up trying. Then I started putting the bow back in.

For my Maltese-- I buy those multi-colored-elastic bands with "something soft around it". I use these and they don't pull the hair out or break it like a plain rubber band. Dollar Store,etc. "Miss Priss" no longer tries to pull hair top knot or pony tail out. Evelyn--stantonsmom@bellsouth.net-Working and home and loving it! email me
