Well make sure you wait a few hours after birth at least so they can eat, rest, and settle down. Even then be as gentle as possible and don't hold them very often until they're a few days older. You also may want to consider that the mom may be protective and won't want you near them. In this case take it slow until she's used to you close to them and knows you won't hurt them.

right when they are born even if they are still a little bloody that's the best time then they are extra gushy then you HAVE TO TRY THE MILK IT'S ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD!!!   IF THEIR EYES AREN'T OPEN YET THEN TAKE THE UPPER PART AND LOWER PART AND WHACK IT OPEN...IF THEY SQUEAL THEN SMACK THEM HARD IT MIGHT TEACH THEM TO KEEP THEIR mouth shut AND THEN CALL THEM An UGLY FREAK       then you can hold them

After the mother and babies are all situtated (usually half an hr) we start holding and cuddling the pups, we do it allot! We are aslo told our pups are the most friendly, well behaved, most socialized pups our buyers have ever seen! We have in over 20 litters never had a sick or unhealthy pup!

You should be able to hold the puppies immediately. Obviously, you must be careful and let them eat but the mother should allow you to hold them immediately or you may have some disposition issues and the dog should no longer be bred.

You can hold the puppies as soon as they are born just don't over exagerate at this stage in life they basically need their mother and to eat and sleep. You can start playing with them more when they are 3-4 weeks old.

not very old at all just wait a few hours, really it is up to the mom, she will tell you when she is ready to let you hold them. even then keep calm and try not to handle them too often, i know they re sooo cute, but only if necessary!
