What is the condition called when a person assumes someones personality who has left, like in a divorce when the wife leaves, and the husband starts acting like she did, such as being prudish, etc.  I would like to research this.  Thank you for your assistance.

Well, it is hard to give an indepth analysis from the brief description, however as a psychologist I would predict that if done so in a healthy way this could be that persons coping mechanism for dealing with a loss, however if done in an unhealthy way I would say this person has severe self esteem issues and perhaps an unattural obsession with the person who's identity they are mimicing - however they may just be a teenage girl :)
