I have been running 20+ years. Recently I have noticed when I run my right foot does not land on the heel and rotate forward like it should. My gait seems to have changed. It seems to land flat making a clumping/thud sound as if the shoe lands flat on the ground. I have never experienced this before and wonder why it has changed. Could it be I am either getting stronger or weaker in a particular area. I don't think it is the shoes because I have used older pairs to check it out and it is still ocurring. If it is running mechanics could a certain type of shoe help the situation?
I have done 5 marathons in last 7 years and now run mostly half marathons. I log 20-30 miles a week.
I appreciate any comments on the subject.
