I haven't tried puroast simply due to it's flashy, false informationally looking website, but I have tried the Hevla coffee that has helped me with my caffeine fix and no more stomach problems

I am Jim Sachs of Puroast Coffee.  I wanted to invite anyone who has stomach problems due to coffee to take our low acid survey at www.puroast.com.  We have just concluded our first clinical phase of research and we are building more chemical and clinical data.
If you email us at info@puroast.com we can give you the clinical results of a recent two year study conducted by an MD who worked on the development of Zantac.

I invite you to try the The Toddy Coffee Maker.
According to The Saturday Evening Post, The Toddy creates "better tasting coffee that is 67 percent less acidic than conventional hot brewed coffee and has a fuller, richer coffee flavor."

The Washington Post says The Toddy is "the ultimate coffeemaker" that brews "the perfect cup of coffee." Our patented cold brew process extracts the coffee bean's true delicious flavor and eliminates much of the acidity.

Best of all, you may use your favorite coffee bean- your beans need not be 'low acid' beans - you may use Folgers or Starbucks, just as long as your beans are coarsely ground.

According to MSNBC (8/20/04): “Try the Toddy coffee system: It works. Really, really well.

Others find regular coffee too acidic. Of the estimated 54 million Americans who suffer heartburn, according to the National Heartburn Alliance, three-quarters say it can be caused by beverages.

Cold-brew systems largely solve these problems, which may be why Toddy claims 20 to 30 percent of its customers are coffee lovers who find regular brews too much to stomach.

The resulting concentrate is strong stuff. Cold brew is familiar to the caffeinated elite.  Many die-hard coffee fiends swear by systems like Toddy
Seattle's Best Coffee fessed up earlier this month that they have for years used industrial-sized Toddys to brew concentrate..."

the only solution for creating a true low-acid coffee (pH 6.0 or more) is by cold brewing your coffee. toddy (www.toddycafe.com) developed and patented the cold brew process- and, best of all, you may use any brand of coffee beans - from Folgers to Starbucks. you don't have to use those icky low-acid beans. hope this helps. kate

Hello,
We purchased Helva from Champlain coffee and the customer service was TERRIBLE, aggrivating, time consuming and took up three days of my time - huge waste of time.  They overcharged, did not send the flavors we ordered (we had receipt saying what was ordered, and they still said they made no mistake!),they were very rude, and acted like being right was why they were in business - not selling coffee! We were shocked because so many internet businesses offer great service.
I am warning all, because I do not want you to lose money the way we did!
It is OK for a company to make a mistake.  It is not OK for them to not care about customers and to make you pay for it.

A few months ago, I ordered coffee from Champlain Coffee for our office.  Champlain coffee had the most frustrating service (no service).  They sent something different than what the boss ordered, then said we were in error.  We had the receipt with want we ordered and we ordered something other than what they sent! For some reason, they had to be right even though we ahd the original order paper! I had to spend so much work time that I will never use them again.
I do not think that Champlain cares about people. I think they care about money.

The customer service at Healthy Java was so unprofessional that they messed up a few days of my life. I had to take so much time to correct the credit card problems and order that I can never forget the problems.

I buy from Hevla.com and they are perfect!

Gano café is a low acid, low caffeine organic Brazilian coffee with the addition of an ancient medicinal herb called Reishi.  You get the energy from the herb as it oxygenates the blood at the cellular level.  Reishi further neutralizes the acid and has a gentle detox action to your organs which enables your body to work more efficiently as well as it is an immune system booster.  I know from personal experience that this product has also eliminated the arthritic pain from my shoulder that I had previously been prescribed medication that just didn't’t work.  I would be delighted to send you a sample if you are interested.  Please let me know @ tdj@telus.net

Thanks to all who recommend Hevla--I'm going to place an order.  NOW--can anyone tell me whether there is an organic, fair-trade brand of low acid coffee?

Thanks!

I too suffer from indigestion from drinking most brands of coffee. However, I've discovered the problem isn't the coffee - it's the brewing. The higher the temperature of the water, the less acid is present. Try boiling water and using a french press to see if that helps, it did wonders for me!

To alleviate acid problems make sure the coffee you drink is akaline. I started drinking a coffee that I just love and it doesn't bother your stomach at all. As a matter of fact it even has other health benefits that are explained at: www.TotalLivingNaturals.com
