Why does Diet Dr Pepper fizz so much when filling it into a cup (fountain dispenser)?  It takes a (relatively) long time to fill my 44oz. cup.   Fill.  Wait.  Fill.  Wait.  Fill. Wait.  Even the bubbles in the Diet Dr Pepper fizz are larger than other drinks.

It probably depends on what fountain machine you use. Some have more carbonated water in the mixture than others. I have noticed at one gas station I go to it will take a while like you have explained. At another one it doesn't take long at all.
